The Study Circle is the circle of all art related activities that are conducted in ASI. Members in this circle get together twice a week at the Society’s studio and practice sketching and painting. The Society conducts Life Sessions and often appoints models for members to study portraiture. These sessions are also once every few weeks interspersed with demonstrations, lectures by accomplished artists who are invited by the ASI.
The ASI also arranges for Nude model sessions around twice or thrice a year for members to study human anatomy. Members gather at the ASI Gallery on the scheduled dates and timings. They work according to their own tastes and preferences of materials and media.
There are great benefits of the Study Circle for every participating member. It gradually develops interaction between artists, art students, amateurs and experts in the field of visual Art.

The Study Tours of the ASI are quite popular and always receive an enthusiastic response from members. They are the perfect opportunity to enjoy plein air painting. There is a nice mix of amateurs, professionals, art enthusiasts; and the young and the elderly among the members who travel together on these tours.
The practice of embarking on Study/Landscape painting tours at the ASI has been prevalent since the past 25 years. Two such study tours are organized every year. For the shorter study trip, the location that is chosen is always in close proximity to Mumbai, and the duration of the tour is fixed to 2-3 days. Whereas for longer study tours, a long distance site, in or outside Maharashtra, is chosen for a duration of ten days.
ASI’s Study Tour suits all kinds of painters and art practitioners across all categories: professional artists, budding professionals, students, beginners and laymen. People with diverse individualities and talent come together, creating a wonderful atmosphere and a memorably enriching experience.
The Study tours are organized and managed efficiently by the incumbent members of the ASI’s Managing Committee. They take great efforts to make these tours a success. The expenses of the tour are kept affordable. No travel agency is hired and the committee takes upon itself the task of making railway reservations, food and accommodation arrangement, and other related organizational activities from the beginning of the tour till its end
